Imagining a safari holiday it’s common to think of an action packed holiday spent roaming across the immense plains of Africa, absorbing the picturesque scenery whilst searching for a special glimpse of one of the infamous big five. It is a holiday usually connected with people who are wanting an adventure, rather than a nice relaxing vacation for a family or couple . You would not think it the perfect setting for a honeymoon, however, as my wife is a bit of an adrenaline junkie, her idea of relaxing usually involves scaling an enormous mountain or leaping from a aeroplane , so I thought for our honeymoon a safari would be an interesting option. Safaris in Africa are extremely popular, with thousands of tourists arriving every year, so it can be expensive . That’s why it’s best to book well in advance. Before looking into it I was totally unaware that we could couple luxury holidays with a safari. Luxury isn’t a word that often springs to mind when talking about a safari but countries like Mauritius and Zanzibar encompass the best of both worlds. Beautiful beaches, extraordinary mountains and lakes as well as the chance to do some animal spotting make it the ideal place to honeymoon for any couple. There aremany travel agents that tailor make packages to meet all requirements . After some research I found out that safari honeymoons are actually not as uncommon as we’d thought , and they’re becoming more and more popular because of cheaper travel costs and the wonderful national parks and nature reserves of which, a lot have undergone tremendous redevelopment in recent years . The majority of people have been on a relaxing holiday before and so crave something more. A safari adventure might be just the thing you’re missing .
